| HONORABLE DAVID A. CASTILLO |
| David is the first prosecutor in Coryell County to use closed circuit TV in court with the successful prosecution of Kenneth Jefferson. The closed circuit TV was used so that the victim, a child, would not need to testify in the presence of the defendant. David continues to be available and attend videotaping of statements by child victims in both Belton and Gatesville at the Children's Advocacy Center to limit the number of times these victims must revisit the crime perpetrated on them and minimize the trauma. | |
The District Attorney's Office is staffed with two assistant district attorney's, one special prosecutor, two legal assistants, one paralegal specialist, two crime victim coordinators, and one full time criminal investigator. The DA's office reviews all criminal felony offenses within Coryell County which includes offenses reported by the Central Texas College PD, Coryell County Sheriff's Office, Gatesville Police Department and the Copperas Cove Police Department.
